Wrap Your Rainbow -- this project will start in the fall of 2013!! Watch our website for more information!!
If you haven't heard the term before, a "rainbow baby" is a child born after a loss. The term has gained popularity among the online babyloss community over the years, the idea behind it being that, while a rainbow does not erase the ferocity or damage of the storm, it does show that beauty and light can still exist, even after the darkest of skies.
If you are the mother (or expecting mother) of a rainbow baby, the "Wrap a Rainbow" project was set up with you in mind! This is a special project we have designed for local parents of rainbow babies. Through the generosity of others (babywearing parents, dealers, etc.), we have a number of rainbow-colored woven wraps or ring slings that we want to bless rainbow mamas with.
How it Works
If you qualify for a Rainbow Baby Wrap (see below), we will loan you a new or gently used woven wrap for a year. During that year, we ask you to:

How it Works
If you qualify for a Rainbow Baby Wrap (see below), we will loan you a new or gently used woven wrap for a year. During that year, we ask you to:
- Use it! Please take pictures of yourself and your rainbow baby enjoying the wrap and share them on our website (we'll give you access to a blog page for your specific wrap). Also, please share your story - both of your baby or babies in Heaven, as well as the Rainbow Baby you have with you now. We want to create a connection for each wrap from one rainbow mama to the next.
- Care for the wrap by keeping it free of smoke and washing it only when necessary according to the accompanying instructions.
- Return the wrap (clean!) to us at the end of your year. We will get it ready for another Rainbow mama to enjoy.
- If you move out of the area during that year, please let us know and arrange to mail it back to Naomi's Circle on the "due date", using an insured postal carrier.
Do I qualify?
To participate in this program, you must meet these qualifications:
- have experienced the loss of a baby at any stage of pregnancy or early infancy
- have a "rainbow baby" (child born after a loss) less than a year old OR
- have a surviving twin (or other multiple) OR
- be expecting a rainbow baby within the next two months (we want you to get the maximum use you can out of this!)
- agree to the above conditions (under "How it works")
- live in the metro Columbia, SC, area (ideally, Richland or Lexington County)
- be willing to learn about safe baby wearing, if you don't already know. The Columbia, SC, Babywearers International group is a good source of information. You don't have to be a member, but if you're new to babywearing, we'd like you to be on friendly terms with them (hang out in their Facebook group, go to a play date, whatever) because they are here to promote babywearing, teach moms and dads how to wrap and wear your baby safely, and they are also just a great bunch of parents to get to know.
- dads can participate, too!!
If you qualify
- Complete our "Wrap Your Rainbow" request form during our request window (if you can't see that page, the window is not open).
- If there is more than one request, the person will be chosen by a random computer program
- We will have a new window every three months, so subscribe to our News page and watch for announcements there or on our Facebook page.
