Mommy To Mommy is an outreach arm of Naomi's Circle. Through the contributions and volunteer efforts of others, we are able to bless newly bereaved parents in the greater Columbia, SC, area with a care package especially designed for their situation:
Brie Bags Designed by Sarah Hackett, in memory of her daughter Brie, and Rachel Raper, in memory of her son Evan, these bags are filled with items chosen to encourage and comfort the parents who have lost a baby to later miscarriage, stillbirth, or neonatal death. They are distributed at Lexington Medical Center, Palmetto Baptist, and Palmetto Richland, with the hope to include other hospitals as needed and able in the future. Brie Bags consist of:
a handmade flannel drawstring bag
a matching pair of appropriately-sized cloth diapers made from the Teeny Tears pattern (one for the baby, one for the parents to keep as a memorial)
************************ Coming Soon!! Bags of Hope Similar to Brie Bags, Bags of Hope will be filled with items to encourage and comfort parents who have endured a miscarriage. They will be distributed through area obstetrician offices. One of the items in it will be a handmade wooden key chain that parents can personalize with a date, name, Scripture, or other special thought to remember their baby. We will make them out of wooden blocks like you would find in a Jenga-like stacking game. If you live in the Columbia area and have one you would like to donate or come across one at a yard sale or consignment sale this summer, please contact us at naomiscircle@gmail.com. We will also be looking for community groups willing to help us make these. Thank you!
