Naomi's Song by Kirsten Melrose
everything i ever loved, i ever treasured,
everything i ever used to measure blessing in my life and how much You love me - it all fell away and crumbled slowly, disillusionment enfolded me - i had gone out full and i came back empty... and i couldn't see through broken dreams, but i believe... that You took my hands and You emptied them, so You could fill them up with Your presence God... and You took my heart and Your broke it in Your hands, so You could sew it up with Your cords of love... this journey started in the darkness, but something keeps my feet upon this road - i know soon the dawn is coming. |
the seed of hope is small and feeble,
but in Your hands i know it will grow until the birds have a place to nest here. and if i never see what You can see, still i'll believe... that You took my hands and You emptied them so You could fill them up with Your presence God and You took my heart and Your broke it in your hands so You could sew it up with Your cords of love... there's a song in my heart - there's a song in my heart now, that You are good! there's a song in my heart - there's a song in my heart now, that You are good! You took my hands and You emptied them so You could fill them up with Your presence God and You took my heart and Your broke it in your hands so You could sew it up with Your cords of love |
Kirsten and her husband travel around the country sharing her music in different churches. Her album “The Coming Glory”, which includes “Naomi’s Song,” is her second release. She writes, “Each song represents a story or a specific principle that resonated with me and compelled me to communicate it with music and my own lyrics. I found that as I studied ancient personalities, their stories were also MY story, in principle. This is the beauty of the Words of God; they are living and active and we are challenged and changed as we let them speak to us. My hope is that these songs tell such stories in new and refreshing ways that will cause you to connect with them deeply."
